How do I know the specialist is real?
Premium specialists pass ID and licence checks. You see their rating, where they are, how many jobs they've done. You can talk before paying anything. Money you send for a job sits in a Safe Deal until you confirm the fix works — no specialist can withdraw it before that.
What if the fix doesn't work?
You don't pay. Safe Deal holds the money until you confirm. If there's a dispute, our team reviews it within 7 days and refunds the client if the work wasn't done.
Can someone fix my car without being there?
Yes — many problems can be coded, programmed, or diagnosed remotely. If you have an AIR OBD device, a specialist plugs into your car's OBD2 port from anywhere in the world: read codes, code modules, run tests, add keys. The specialist will tell you upfront if they need to come on-site instead.
What is AIR OBD?
A two-device bridge that puts your car's OBD2 port on the internet — one box in your vehicle, the other on a specialist's diagnostic tool, P2P over the web. Works with most CAN / DoIP / ISO tools, no subscription. You link your AIR ID once on your dashboard and any specialist you chat with can find your vehicle by it. We sell them at a discount with the OBD2ONLINE promo code.
How much does a typical session cost?
Quick remote fixes are usually €30–80. On-site visits depend on your location. You'll see the estimate before you start, and you only release payment after the fix is confirmed.
Do you support my country?
We're launching in English with EU and US specialists. Spanish, German, French and others coming soon. You can always pick a specialist in your language.
Can I use OBD2 Online for cars older than 2001?
Pre-2001 cars usually don't have an OBD2 port — we can still help with general electrical diagnosis from photos and descriptions, but live code reading via AIR OBD won't work. Tell the specialist your make and year in the chat, they'll confirm what's possible.
Is my data and vehicle information private?
Yes. We store only what's needed to match and bill — diagnostic descriptions, codes you share, chat messages with your specialist. Nothing is sold to third parties. Specialists see only the deal context, not your address or payment details. Full breakdown in our Privacy policy.
How fast will I get matched with a specialist?
Most requests get an initial AI triage within seconds. A human specialist usually picks up within minutes during EU business hours, and within a few hours overnight. Urgent cases (won't start, lights flashing) get priority routing.
What if the specialist asks for my phone number outside the chat?
Don't share it. All payments and disputes are protected only inside the platform's Safe Deal escrow. If a specialist tries to move the conversation off-platform, report them via the chat menu — we'll review and warn or remove them. Both sides of the agreement protect both of you.
Can I become a specialist on OBD2 Online?
Yes — apply via the Become an electrician page. We verify ID, professional licence where applicable, and ask for a short technical interview. Approved specialists set their own session prices and keep 85% of each payment.
